The Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB), the radiation afterglow of the Big Bang, is one of the best probes we have for the large-scale universe. The statistics of hot and cold spots in the background give us detailed information about the geometry and composition of the universe overall.
The primary purpose of my research is the development of reliable analysis tools for current and future experiments that measure the CMB.
